About Jen
I am a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist, and a Boston girl at heart who loves her dog, Broadway, sporting events, and my nephews! I am a positive person who values friendship, humor, and openness to meeting new people or trying new things. I came to New York in 2002 and after receiving my Masters at New York University, fell in love with the vastness and pace of the city and made it my home.
I have been a Speech Language Pathologist since 2005. I worked in a variety of programs but primarily in the public school system. For the last eight years, I have also worked in private practice with children ages birth through high school.
The main approach to my work is to give practical tools to my students and their families so their speech improvement becomes a holistic lifestyle of learning. As a child, I saw my own family struggle with my younger brother who was born with autism. I realized that to best support the child, you must give tools to the full family— this greatly reduces anxiety in the home and helps all members thrive.
I have diagnosed and implemented treatment for disorders related to receptive language disorders, expressive language disorders, articulation, phonological processing, fluency, oral motor weakness, hearing impairment, selective mutism, dyslexia, stuttering, genetic disorders, autism spectrum disorders and pragmatic language disorders from infancy to 18 year olds. I enjoy not only working with my clients, but also building relationships with their families. I am passionate and excited about working with and helping all of my clients reach their highest potential and communicate in the most functional and effective manner possible. In short, I love helping children express themselves with words and watching them build confidence as they do it. I am confident that there is no child I cannot help.
